Death-row prisoners face raging bulls

INMATES at a US prison are taking part in violent rodeos to let off steam and win money.

Angola Prison, in Louisiana, lets its prisoners be trampled and gored before a crowd of thousands at its biannual rodeo in a bid to help them momentarily forget about the lethal injection, or life behind bars, the Daily Mail reported.

Events include “convicts poker” where the winner is the last man sitting as a bull charges the table, “tossing” where two inmates try to throw a calf over on its back, and the major crowd pleaser, ”guts and glory”, where up to 50 inmates compete to pluck a $650 poker chip from the horns of a stampeding bull, says news.com.au
